Newark, N.J. native became the face of the SSU program and helped turn the tide for the Tigers. Prior to her arrival, SSU had experienced 11 straight losing seasons.  En route to amassing over 2,000 points, became first SSU player to top 1,000 career points since school moved to D-1. Led Tigers in scoring in each of the four full seasons she played, three of which ended with a winning record … 2014-15: Led Tigers (21-11) to school’s first ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conf. (MEAC) title and an NCAA Tournament berth while ranking 8th in D-1 (topsin MEAC) in steals per game. Also paced team in scoring en route to First Team All-MEAC and All-MEAC Tournament Team honors ... 2013-14: SSU’s leader in scoring, made FGs, 3PFGs, and FTs, assists, steals, and minutes … 2012-13: Was granted a redshirt after suffering season-ending injury knee … 2011-12: Team’s points leader again (529,3rd in MEAC; 2nd best in SSU history) ... NOTEABLE: In 2011, was on Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) team with fellow prospect, Elem Ibiam (So. Car.).  Made official visit to SSU same day school retired jersey of the school’s most famous alum, WR Shannon Sharp, with whom Kalu shares a birthday.
